Grid-to-Excel, Grid-to-PDF Available for Java

| Comments (17)

dhtmlxGrid now offers export to Excel and PDF services for Java. This functionality has been already introduced for PHP, but we are finally releasing the Java version. We know that many of you have been expecting this release, so you can now download the packages and enjoy ready-to-use export functionality:

There is also a .zip archive with an example that demonstrates how this functionality works for PDF and Excel. Export-to-PDF adds printing capabilities for dhtmlxGrid deployed in the Java-based interface, while the Export-to-Excel feature enables you to send online grid data to the desktop environment.

To get an idea of how to use these export services, see the documentation for PHP:

The approach is almost the same. If you’re familiar with Java technology, you’ll easily learn how to use the export functionality in your own web applications. For any technical questions, contact us on Forum.

Java to Excel export threw miscellaneous exceptions when the data contains percentage signs and #cspan columns. Had to fix the ExcelGenerator.java myself with several .replaceAll statements. Additionally, umlauts in the Excel sheet are wrong.

Daniel, I am also having issues with the Java to Excel export. May I ask what did you do a .replaceAll on other than #cspan/#rspan? Thanks.

    Hi,

I would to know, with all the support provided for ASP.Net MVC, if there are any plan to port the export to PDF and Excel in MVC?

This would be quite useful for ASP.Net MVC companies like us who are seriously looking at your MVC controls (including your fantastic grid) to also be able to benefit from your export library.

    Thanks in advance!

Pierre, we’ve just released the ASP.NET version of export feature for dhtmlxGrid. You can learn more and download it here: http://www.dhtmlx.com/blog/?p=1406
