We are always very delighted when we discover great applications where our js libraries are used. And today we’re proud to share a new customer spotlight about Hive, a useful application for project management. They’re using dhtmlxGantt for adding a Gantt chart to their app. Here is a story from the Hive team:
About Hive
Hive is a powerful project management platform for teams. It brings together everything your team needs – chat, tasks, files – on one dashboard. Most tools only cover one area of collaboration and force you to invest in a whole productivity stack. Hive stops that by creating a true hub for teamwork.
Hive has flexible project views including Kanban boards, Gantt charts, Calendar, and more. It also integrates with over 100 popular tools, like Google Apps, Salesforce and Slack and connects to Box, Google Drive and Dropbox for files. With Hive, your team has everything it needs to get work done.
The Challenge
Before dhtmlxGantt, we received a lot of feedback from users that made it clear that Hive needed to add Gantt chart. Custom building a Gantt chart would require a significant amount of time and resources. We wanted to find a more efficient way to add this functionality to the app.
Why dhtmlxGantt
Working with dates and times is notoriously difficult. We’ve worked with a number of libraries in the past that didn’t provide rich enough APIs to meet our needs. We considered implementing our own solution, but quickly realized the complexity was high and that DHTMLX Gantt provided a rich solution.
The API is extremely flexible, well documented and easy to understand if you need to look at underlying source code. The support has been responsive and high quality. We would absolutely recommend using DHTMLX and are even considering using some other products that they offer based on our experience so far.
We are very thankful to Hive team for choosing our dhtmlxGantt library and wish them all the best with their powerful platform!
