DHTMLX Touch support and development was discontinued when all DHTMLX components became adaptive.
We have finally decided on how the DHTMLX Touch library will look on mobile and touchscreen devices. Look at the screenshots, and see how you like it. If you do – and we really like what we see – then be ready for it in December 2010! ;-)
What we are eager to offer you is a component library with a touch-enabled interface familiar to most users of iOS, Android, etc., which will look appealing on other kind of devices as well. We will use our experience and best practices from web apps development together with modern technologies to bring you a nice-looking and easy-to-use (right from the first steps) JavaScript framework for building web applications oriented to touchscreen devices, big and small. And not just touchscreen…
And here is how the application interface built with the DHTMLX mobile library will look on smaller phone screens:
And… you still will be able to define the color scheme for your applications. Tired of blue and gray? Make it… orange, or something!
Please leave your comments and suggestions. We welcome your ideas and might incorporate them, since the development is still in progress. The first version you can play with will be available in December 2010.

Looks very promising.
Is this a separate library from the standard DHTMLX components? or just new “skins” for the existing components?
On the first stages it will be a separate library, but we have plans to offer a combination of both in the future.
Very cool! Just what we were looking for. Can’t wait.
Exactly what I’ve been waiting for!
Compliments, very nice,
It is possible to be of the beta tester? We leave this month iPad progect and since we use already DHTML would be important to still use it:)
Thanks
Yes, we’ll post a notification about beta release here in blog, so everyone who is interested will be able to participate.
This is really awesome!
I like it without feeling it yet :-)
Looking forward to December…
Looks awesome. I hope I can update my mobile site using it.
love it. Put me on the beta list if you have one.
Looking to integrate it with iPhone/iPad based pages. Will the library give access to the geolocation of an iPhone?
The library will consist of visual ui components that will run in browser. If Safari supports getting geo location, then it will be possible with dhtmlx library as well.
How to play with the alpha release ?
The alpha release will be available in December. We will post about it here in blog.
Is it going to be html5 dependant ?
I hope you are considering the large amount of Symbian S60 Nokia devices currently in use.
Yes, the library will be HTML5 dependent, it will work in modern browsers which support HTML5: Chrome, Safari, Opera.
It will be also compatible with IE9 and FF4, but will work without animation and/or with static backgrounds.
Will dhtmlxScheduler be supported as part of the December release?
No, not this time. We plan to release mobile version for dhtmlxScheduler in February.
Guys, congratulations for such a good work. I’m really impressed with the first tests our team is doing with the library, and have it for touch and/or mobile devices is definitively a very good idea. We are going to be your customers very soon!!!!
Thanks for your kind words. We will be happy to see you as our customers :)
Is the Beta already available? And if so where can I download it from?
The first release is planned on December 2010, so please wait till the next month to try it.
it’s great I’m hurry to see it
entering the December, impatient waiting for this…. :D
Looks very nice. Have been using DHTMLXgrid for some time, and have recently been developing for iPad with Sencha Touch — ST is VERY hard to learn though, so I’m looking forward to your entry into this space.
Agreed. Sencha Touch is nice, but not the easiest concept to grasp right away. Sooner we can get our hands on this the better, we can’t wait.
Will it be possible to set the input type for numerical columns to instruct the iphone/ipad keyboard to default to the numerical state?
Form elements will have the ability to set HTML5 element types, such as “url, email, number” – so mobile|ipad browser will show more appropriate on-screen keyboard.
When is it going to be available? Can’t wait to play around with it :)
We’ve just released the alpha: http://www.dhtmlx.com/blog/?p=791
this project still running?
Yes, the alpha has been just released :)
I love it, Great work
[…] of this alpha version, we returned back to the topic of flights reservation we used on the screenshots. Components used: Layout, List, Grid, Toolbar, Form + form controls (dropdown, segmented button, […]
Wondering about customization is it possible to easily change assets/colors?
All colors are defined in the css. So, you may easily change them. You may also set items template and define how an item will look.
UI designer tool also allows you to choose a skin color from the predefined list.
Sounds great. Downloaded it to try. In the link above is still v0.4. Found v.0.5 somewhere else now ;-)
It’s already 0.8b :)

are you planning to include the treegrid component for future versions?
Hello guys, i want to know if this framework is easier to learn…because i have to design a web aplication for differents platforms..(android, iOs, etc). I already see other frameworks like phonegap, titanium or sencha but i’m not sure. (sorry if my english is not good xD…)
I would say it’s rather easy to learn. You can check the Quick Start to get started with the Touch library:

On iPad ios 5.0 textfields are not working.
